Hindu marriages in U.P.

Hi frenz,, Hindu marriage season "sahalag" is going on ..Well,residing in a posh zone..it does offer you invitations to some high class marriages ....But there are many things .I dont understand about hindu marriages .
The blatant exorbitant expenditure ,
Why are all marriages in night ?? The entire philosophy follows ...vidaayi taaron ki chaon mein ,but while yhe Baraat is always late !! the actual vidaayi takes place in the morning !

Thousands of senseless ceremonies , I do not think that the day of marriage is a happy day for any bride andgroom because of these ceremonies but then I may be wrong
Horrible music is quite popular in UP ,even an original version ..it is sung in a horrible screechy  male voice :  hello hello 123 check check 


Long hours sitting at stage,posing for hundreds of photographs most with strangers and relatives whom one would never again see in life !

One thing very common is the entire sysytem of not wearing woolens ...however it may be permissible in case of hot ones like me ! :) The men are all suited up. Are they ever in backless? sleeveless? (ok not so gay display) but are they ever in just trousers and shirts?

And then ,What I also don't understand is the entire floral decoration in bed room . Suhaag -Raat is actually a floral night ! What's the need? is it an achievement to count the number of crushed flowers in morning? or does cleaning the rotten flowery mess a day or two later gives inexpressible joy ? why waste so many flowers?

Ideally there should be court marriage and the day next n a grand reception (lunch) for closed friends. Does one like being dragged to marriages of acquaintances? NO, so why call acquaintances for yours?

Then there is this entire element of bitching and criticism , no one is ever satisfied after attending a marriage. What was she wearing . He was so snobby. No one took care of the relatives . She wears the same jewellery every time etc. etc.. Also in case anyone is facing marital problems , unknown to him/ her the entire family and far off relatives discuss the subject with gay abandon.

This one stupid comment generally made by dadi's / Nani's बिलकुल राम सीता कि जोड़ी हैं | OK 1st of all no one should wish for a life like them and 2ndly give me a break! ....

I wonder what this institution actually deals with !Simple Mary - Hales like Mangalam bhagwan vishnu ...... dont change anything ! I mean shaadi ke baad bhi the same thing happens ..it does nt change ,,your work ,,your other things etc etc ....
Well,this can mean that i'm advocating love marriages here ....Walking over to the drawing room with the tray in hand ,switching over from skirts-jeans to heavy suits and even other some crappy things amidst and finally ...getting to marry one and forcing youselves to love your husband coz you have to ...?Anyway ,,,no debate intended here ,,i feel love marriages are good as long as they dont turn to arranged ones ,,and the arranged are good only if they turn to like love-marriages. I can go on forever on this issue this topic...although I am just very far from the marriage - vantage and would like to push it as far as I can !! Before that ,I would like to make one quick observation on mothers of eligible bachelors. This has been my observation since childhood. These women (barring the educated sober rare exceptions of course ) are a menace at any marriage. She somehow has a very superior air around her, it's like every one at the marriage gathering's highly impressed with her son and all girls wanna marry him.

Well,its all about time.I fail to figure out how the past years here passed away,however with the tough status- Unplaced !!!while no CS/IT cos in mood to entertain us ....where do happy go lucky engineers like us go ?When I passed out my high school ,I felt like saying to my mom-dad ...that i didnt want to study further..Ofcourse I didnt!...for I had no choice !!!
Dancing all turns ,sporting all games,acting all dramas,or even writing a minor blog ..not one provides a scope enough against not studying furthur.I wonder if in such a scenario shaadi appears to be an easy option!

I had been going through the names in my phonebook today and I was typically amused by the list i'd queued in the last four years..I have a trendy way to name most contacts by codes or short forms.. like 'PLV' for Pallavi ...'Shshv' for shashvi, etc. etc....I guess it was a bhaji blend ranging from generator walas to autowalas to paying guests ,coaching centres,......so on and on ! Some names imparted sweet memories ,some aching,some bitter and some humorous....There were also such names I couldnt recall or guess the code ! As i was fulfilling my deleting spree....deleting all the n0-longer genuine names,,I felt that there should be a delete button in real life too ! that could permanently wipe off all the memeories I wanted to get rid of ! And now,,,when I have deleted so many names,I still find it heavy enough ...ah ! I feel I'm a victim of social..............

hallo ! up from a classy final ... A true final ...breaking federer's habit of winning @ halwa finals.Hats off to federer but I truly wanted Andy to win !!!... THE 5TH set,having no tie-breaks stretching more than 80 mins took all breaths away ! ANDY PROVED HIMSELF A TOUGH BATTLER GIVING NO EASY ACCESS TO ROGER... The last set ..however smashed him tired ! ... to genuinely mention the point,,the shadow at Andy 's end ...rendered unjust 2 him...I can put that as a reason(may be A ndy himself not !:)) for his flighted undirectional shots at the end.. Anyways ,had Nadal been here.... Against him ..roger would have .....in the 4th set only..remember the Australian Open .??.NAdal made him run so much ....
Well ,the irony is that he still runs to grab all crowns !

movie review

Hi ! watched New York ! nice ,concepted movie ! The three smart actors have been successful in framing a hollywoodish touch to the film ,by giving it a western flair , by their acting and their looks.For those who have seen and read much of the 11th sep attack on America may find things being picked up and revised over .Neil has been able to screen out the frustation of a muslim friend in tough terrorist- situations.Caterina is brilliant and John is also fine.. The story ends in grief ; explaining how different people take different decisions ;this way being right at their own place but affecting others behind them !

While monsoons keep torturing the north indians ,roasting them to peevishness,,,there are even more issues .Lets analyse the prevailing ones around us !!

The elephantine issue is the U.P. C.M''s ambitions! More than crores spent on Granite and Marble statues .40 statues ,including 6 of her own+Kashiram's memorial at Jail road +Buddha Sthal,,all these waiting to be inaugrated .If I be in Lko,I'l look forward to availing the invitation to have a tour of the grandness !,just have a glance at the figures (source: TOI)

Statues of Mayawati +Kashiram worth Rs 6.68 crore.
60 marble elephants at the Ambedkar memeorial ,Gomtinagar,worth Rs 52 crore.
Rs 1,20,74,95,000 for gallery @ Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal ,Gomtinagar.
Rs 14 crore for construction of screen wall.
Rs 80 crore for maintainence of the memorial .
Rs 2,31,12,30,000 for strenghtening of the memorial.
Rs 2,03,49,12,000 for museum @ Parivartan Sthal ,Gomtinagar.
Rs 2,72,95,21,000 for Kashiram's memeorial,Jail Road.
Rs 90 crore for beutification of Kashi Ram Park.

I fail to scale out The U.P. budget this way !.Why do specific party leaders be statued as national leaders,over the cost of public land ?if they want to ,,they can well do so with their own salary ! Crores spent on building them ,,another crores spent on their removal by the following govt !Everytime I enter LKO in vacations ,i find some or the other grand new construction going on accross the route to home.I wonder what Gomtinagar would be afta 5 yrs ! Earlier Saharas poshed it and now......I dont criticize this step although yet you should atleast be foresighted enough in light of the consequences !

All this prevailing in a scenario when the country faces the inflation as - 1.14 in the second weekend too !The base effect seems to be bitterly taking its toll !

Moreso ,Air India continues to face a loss of approx 1.57 cr daily ; has erged its employees to help itself recover by cutting off salary ,perks etc. ..But seems to be helpless against the thaat - baat of the mantrijis ,the sarkaari trips ,their allowances etc.Adding to the trouble is the high price of ATFs .All this building up a crescendo ! Its high time that we pay heed to these issues .After all its our public money which is being wasted !

While people need to pay genuine attention to matters as above ,they seem to be brooding over other sub standard issues .

Ban over girls wearing jeans at Kanpur Degree colleges! However the students getting relief by the govt's support by lifting the ban !The principals asking the students not to wear such dresses as it looks provocative and attracts eve teasers.erghh ! what hypocrisy is that ? I wonder why girls at graduation wont be mature enough to understand their own welfare !every girl understands what a decent no- trouble dress comprises of .and even if one moods into exposure ..look at one if you like ..ignore if you dont !At a time when women are thinking out-of -box careers and travelling the world ,such bans seem a ridiculous move !I wonder how such stupid ideas strike people! The colleges must focus more on facilities they are offering and not on such inane bans in name of discipline.They should better correct on what they think ,not what they see !

The next issue being Delhi-Dilli name change !
controversy again ! mumbai-bombay,chennai-madras,calcutta-kolkata....the issue : history vs cultural correction .I fail to understand why one may compound confusion over names,with puzzlements over what n where is being talked of to visitors ,postal authorities ..Adding to the same ,the problem of variety of pronunciations !When India can have multi cultures,multi identities ,why cant it have multiple names?Call me Miss A,Miss Aristocrat ,Miss Angelina ..what care?Let Calcutta exist with Kolkata,Bombay with Mumbai,Madras with Chennai,Poona with Pune..AMreeka with America,Bilayat with Britain !! No big issue at all!!


Well ,issues are always around us..It remains on our part how we categorise them ..how we prioritize them..what is worth an issue ..whats not !

Some days back...

I happened to watch a hindi movie after a long span of time...KAL KISNE DEKHA HAI !...

(but the hero can see things of kal !)

here follows the outline review: Nihaal,apni babbbey ka puttar , frm chandigarh ..chota shehar,as the movie says .I wonder why Chandigarh would be tagged as a chota... To quote,The average salary of each person ranges frm 40-50 thousand . I wonder where else in India does this statistic hold ! The film tries to show up the college stuff scene..I guess your own college happenings are 10 times more eventful than those in the movie.The film features a stylish ,proud,affluent,heartless heroine who falls in love with the chandigarhi hero who has a vision of tomorrow ,after an incident where the hero saves her life  from a bomb accident ...His speciality,is the foresight of future.The kamal ka nihaal is prone to fall in the hands of some anti social elements.....blah blah..rest things can be predicted..Rishi Kapoor seems to be doing something in the movie..Babbey is OK.Otherwise ,Theres not much reason why one should watch the movie,although some say it can be watched once !Dialogues are very average ,and songs are hopeless.Girls who like nakhra-wakras of the heroine can...More so ,I guess the actress is more suitable for ads like rasna,drinks,scooty or some cosmetic.The hero,via the creamy flavour he holds, fails to convey the subject through dialogues .

Thats it ! the off-track  of bollywood has given ample scope for its thoda -bhot business it could otherwise not have made !

Clay or grass..tennis is always fine.As the french open proceeds to the finals,the t20 starts up with it but the sahi match between Roger n Dell,,left no option to even switch over for score of England batting against netherland.Yes !me up from the combat- semifinal,had a full match - watch till the last set ,the deciding one !While Nadal ,Djokovic, bid bye to french open ,roger marches forward by winning the semifinals.Unlucky Dell ..losing in the end by 6-3,6-7,6-2,1-6,4-6. He rendered a classy competition against Roger ,the dominanace he showed initially was remarkable ! Me now a fan of his rapid n edged serves.Roger on the other side ,good as always ,specially with the corner shots;however appeared frustated at times ,though his frusatation was soon followed by a few net flaws n off - area shots by Del ....losing the match ,,departed from the court with tears in eyes...nah ! me not getting emotional...except when its Nadal ! lookking for further matches..with the cricket as well !.. as I say clay or grass everything is fine :PIndia vs bangladesh tomorrow..

Had a glance at the railway interim budget(2009-10) ! Ya..its substantial ! Parties and get-togethers organised for mantrijis n netajis with their fellows,ambassadors,red blue lights,body guards n chelas... all purposes of meetings and discussions! Linked and cross - linked ..chained political - social networks and affairs . The grand courtyard ..men sitting on the marble,under the huge neem ..talking of all stuffs ..ye party aisi,wo neita waisa,iski bahumat,uska vote, kaun sa candidate ..kitne vote..parche mohar ,,prachar-paisa ,public-janta ...shamiyana,mikes,stages..............people strateging their ideas ,plotting methods ,analysing rivalries etc etc..And Me , as a kid ..everytime I pass around the track*...I'm intoduced to ....."Inse mamaste karo beta !"rolled over like football in laps of people who finger-print on your cheek just to check its elasticity !"Eee..hatto ! nai !" ..I used to run away ! Mahindras,bikes,ambassadors ,gallons of tea-water ..nashta -snack all in -out !!In the scene..dozens of surrounding people! ...Ma, like a genuine north Indian bahu,late night cooking bundles of kachaudis n all for them all..who even kept on delaying wih their never-concluded affairs moving along! Me..like a naughty,stubborn-spoilt child roaming through the cross-sections of the home..everytime annoying ma with my stupid " Hi ma!! hallo ma!!",,even more like "Motu Uncle likes it...its his favourite !' and on the other side as well,"Baba ! who's your best friend among them all?"...so on and on !! And now..even afta so many years,though certified as a citizen,yet Iv never voted ! And even if ..... I may wonder "who to vote?"What if I flag along with my family's track???...and for a choice..Priyanka Gandhi ,my role model?:):) hehe!!Well ,for her I'd say ..she's really campaigning aggressively advocating Rahul Gandhi's genuiness and the building up of a young nation! However it is to be wondered if the Gaandhians can stretch their influence outside Amethi n Raibereily as well!Also ,in this scenario,bollywood stars sharing their cake in the elections .Now while Sanjay Dutt is forbidden to stand from LKO,lets see what Nafisa Ali has! I hope Hema-Malini,this time doesnt start her basanti* stuff during any manifestation .I wonder what people do ! ask votes for just anything n everything!I like Salmaan Khan's attitude here..who's been campaigning for all parties,it be NCP,BJP or Congress ! all at the same time !!kuch bhi kaho ! banda hai bhot mast ..n he's still so young !! :):) .he he ..all this I say in context with the pre-mentioned concept of the young - nation ..My special(late:))accolades to the Indian hockey team for the Azlan Shah cup,winning handsomely (3-1) against Malaysia in front of Malaysian crowd ..after a track* of 14 yrs ... rough patch n controversies behind the success! hmm good work boyz !!keep winning !

Journey

Hi frenz ! returned frm home ! had a f9 journey up contrary to the one down !Yet I wont say it was bad although . SKG's extra classes saturday early morning till 10:15(2&1/2 hrs) deadlocked the brain completely venting only the pune-LKO Superfast ! (was right time!) With a wierd idea of going home ,Id packed up before class.No-one of course ! was to accompany me to such a mis-scheduled trip,n that too 11:00 A.M. train ! College at one end..at the KNP highway and station at the other ..time to cross 1+ hr. ! and me catching the train after d classes seemed impossible ! But ...... So what did I think of myself? Extra smart ya over smart? I guess I needed more options to answer the same ! I ran with the bag+ laptop handling ppl the keys..thru the hostel gate with guard bhaiya"" Arre ! Entry !!" and me .." HO gai bhaiya !!"(the ppl later did that ! ) Chasing the hot sun; no auto in the scene ,dialled the guard at the central gate for an auto checking watch everytime..all through the 1&1/2 km......dead and dried ! " Achcha !! aapne hee......nahin! koi auto nahin !" I marched furthur...no auto ! the ones appeared had no scope ! I was tired walking ! 10:40 already !,I had to ....home..my nani's operation ! was awaiting an auto ! needed helicopter but ! .......... And just then ! a bike slowed down near me ! I could nothing but blankly stare at him , the Uncleji ! my instant reaction :
"" Ji... aap kahan ja re ?"
" Uncle: " main jhansi ...jhansi ja raha hoon main"...now what kinda reply was that? jhansi mey rehke jhansi ja ra hoon?anyway ...  
Me: " ji main bhot der se yahan khadi hoon..meri train hai 11:10 pe chali jayegi..aap plz mujhe station tak....i urgently need to..."...I bla'd out hastily sounding as bechari as i could ! He took his time(Oh no !..I was like jaldi haan bolo yaar ! )
Uncle:'"college se aa rahi ho...chalo achcha baitho !"
Relieved ! though not at the watch sight I sat managing the lappy n the bag ! He tturned out to be an OK driver .I was like 30 mins ! tough task !! C'mon roadie ! felt like start/stop watching him ..but didn't out of courtesy ! Wondering if I could catch the train !...while counting trees,dividers & speed breakers + the traffic jam ...which no aauto could ever have...... ! I felt like patting him....I did not ! felt like thanking him..I did not ! sitting on bike ....@ boyfriend , a generous brother or any other ...such thoughts had their share of time till it got closer .Felt uneasy with the shrinking time..(11:10 already !)...n damn his phone calls ! slowing the velocity . Even he started glaring at the watch ...n finally could say ,
"Aap shayad der se nikali thi ....'
me: " Arre wo kya hai na ke."................. the only talk between us !!

At last ! the station ! (@ 11:15) I wonder if he was feeling proud of himself ! ...
" Aap auto se itni jaldi nahin aa pati....."
and then !!! " Suno !! apna Number....."
  I had no time to even lie ! I smiled + thanked + ran!!....slowed a bit only to see the expected time (11:20)...then over the bridge .."the PUNE-LKO is arriving shortly at....'
so I had time to breathe ! I clutched TC for the tickets..I didnt have it ..and ma goodness!! he ticketed me for a sleeper S9 with absolutely no fair !! not even general !...no extra money ! nothing !! @ his act of kindness!! I confirmed again...he said no! I really had no clue to what had happened until when it horned ..ppl shuffled and TC disappeared ! I got into and could well guess the waiting list !
Me trying to settle ..amidst the akeli -ladki nonsense ...fokat mey ppl offering you seats and tutoring you.." Aap yahan samaan rakhiye..wahaan rakh dijiye !..laiye main ......! ..grinning like monkeys ...Bloody heck !! what is to you man!!!let my luggage go to hell ! Why dont you just shut-up and sit-down??Better help others who may need it..I can do it myself ! Trying to be extra familiar ,staring-scanning you like hell ! such things even more annoy you when you are not even a pinch of Aishwarya Rai ! I took my things and generalising that everywhere it would be the same ..walked off to the entrance !What could I do now ?? ofcourse nothing !!placed bags somewhere with ma head approaching the charger point ;seeking appeasation from the business magazine ..I was holding ! couldnt much stand along ! moved in the very first compartment and a lady ........to let me carry on with the magazine... Nothing eventful through out xcept the entry of two cool passengers at the further station who were quite entertaining ! Bhai came to receive me I was expecting him as usual .."Tum fir aa gayi ! abhi toh gayi thi !!tumhare college mey kuch padhai-vadhai nahin hoti ?"....Nah ! he didnt ..instead he smiled " late ho gayi yaar train toh !!" and then bike again !! ha ha ha ...I like it ..I also like the way to gomtinagar ...I like home n I like ma granny....I bent against the bed to touch her feet,the operationed leg..no ! I did not like that. at LKO ,twice to ganj.. to a friend..and roamed @ fun mall  .had invited some CE frenz for lunch who' d c ome to LKO for a course !

MOVIE REVIEW

GRUDGE 3 : A story about a brother and his two sisters, who live in the apartment building from "The Grudge 2", fighting for their lives against the menacing ghosts .The soundtrack is exactly the same from the first two movies, the apartment looks exactly the same from the sequel, plenty of exterior shots and a solid set of actors.. Certainly not much of horror for me ..I wonder if I can ever be scared of a horror movie.. dats it,I rate it as 5/10.. I like the introduction of Kayako's sister and the twist of events at the end. It was also a bit smoother than "The Grudge 2",



Serendipity: SWEET MOVIE..FOR THE ONES WHO PREFER WATCHING SWEET CINEMA and cool love stories.Its fine,moving kinda average movie.

Treat !

treat ! again? :} yeah...The season of ma bday treat has not yet ended.I hope with this round,it would end the series..It being a holiday..people getting ideas to go out..and the reason could have been no better than astha's ..the logic behind the delay,the exams ,the sports+cultural+tech fests fir unka ghar jana.I think what motivates people to ask for treats is that they get it everytime,it be seniors,frenz..or any other.So I took them @ movie.Not again? hahaha !! na its a restaurant !ya I took them for lunch..In the route after the paanipuri n juice!At the restaurant we 5 of us sat at the centre table and departed afta eating to heart's content- Chilli-paneer,stuffed tomato,paneer kofte,pineapple rayta.. Acquarians are real social people.All know you wherever you go,large friend circle owing to your easy casual nature and this is how treats follow even afta months.:):)So from there I headed to the ATM .I had to :) dats it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Went for the next round of the literary event afta GD,ma question.."Astha! your question is like ..u've started smoking after coming to the engineering college..n your parents come to know about i..how would you.....with them?" The first bubble that appeared on ma head was"ailaa sutta!!" yeah ! that was errr realistic question ! 30 sec..for thinking n 1 minute to speak ..ur time starts now! " well i think..Ma entering into smoking can be attributed to the factors:

• The company I'm into....the people who influence me.
• and secondly my own diversion to it,if I myself choose to smoke.

I'll enter this into the minds of ma parents that their values,their sanskaars are always with me..and stuffs like smoking n drinking are too minor to delude it..its just a matter of chance that I took it up..its merely one of the many just-trying out things one could opt for while being in an engineering college.It wont hamper me any kinda....and surely for its consequences I would quit it ."

I have an idea that one must always smoke in company but I dnt have any logic for the same.

MOVIE-REVIEWS

Hi everyone..watched The Reader just now. yes ! the OSCAR...starring Kate winslet (bafta ,oscar, grammy winner ). xams over now... was planning to go out today. but had things to watch at hand. I realized I havent reviewd a movie for long..inspite of the fact..Ive been watching too many to even recall.. Lemme mention a few of them:
 
THE READER: A good well-framed movie but long after seeing the film you keep wondering whether it really deserves the critical acclaim of the OSCARS, blander version of the bestseller,The Reader holds your attention but fails to evoke emotions it intends to.Sex culminating into warm and deep love only happens towards the later half of the film and before it takes the film to another level, it ends again. The characters and the story are not well defined.I wonder it be a love story, mystery, war, redemption,its not justified actually. Why do the characters do what they do is for us to find out. . In all,thik-thak movie which will hold your interest throughout! (6.5/10)
 

MONSTERS' INK: A cute,innocent lovely annimated movie... wrapped up in a creative concept of power generation by scaring kids..which later turns into making them happy.. The monsters are so nice ..specially the googly-woogly ..I like his dialogues very much and yes ..the litle girl..with her cute - lovely mischeifs and acts..entertains the viewers... The total treatment of the film is very nice! I loved it. (8/10) 


THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN: A grand ,elegant movie..nicely sequenced in its own set of events. Kingdom of Heaven is an epic adventure about a common man who finds himself thrust into a decades-long war. A stranger in a strange land, he serves a doomed king, falls in love with an exotic and forbidden queen, and rises to knighthood. Ultimately, he must protect the people of Jerusalem from overwhelming forces while striving to keep a fragile peace. A high standard ,quality movie ... gets a bit long although ..but your time is well justified. (8.5/10) 

THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS: A film comes along with the main lead being homeless, struggling in a doomed marriage, with a child to support single-handedly, no substantial career to speak of or prospects to cheer for, it surely has to stand out. This is even more so when the title is as optimistic as ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’. Will Smith's gentle character of Chris Gardner, played by Hollywood hunk (must mention this word here, given the absolute contrast of the role he has played in this movie!) teaches us to wake up and look at each day as a blessing. The amazing grace and sheer willpower that sees him through even the worst of life’s difficulties has a strange dual effect on the viewer – your heart bleeds as well as swells with admiration for the man with the box and a little kid both at once. I rate it as 9/10. Similar as for an emotional bachcha like me..it would cause you weep atleast once.. 

SOMEONE LIKE YOU: A good well storied romantic movie.. The actress is cute and looks pretty hot when she weeps. Ditched in love by a stupid lover,,she works in well ..and the awesome -extraordinary study over the male lovers in general who keep changing preferences is cool.. Later she finds her love in guise of an old friend.I rate the movie as 8/10 

13B: Man Vs Gadgets’ !! Madhavan is excellent in picking the right scripts and he’s good enough at enacting them too! Be it his romantic appeal or in the most of mixed-up situations, he tops ! ‘13B’ is all about a television set and nothing else that throws the most skittish things around. It can be compared to ‘One Missed Call’and 'Remote Control'. If the song ‘Sab Khariyat Hai’ has a pleasant touch, there’s something different you experience every time this song comes along the show and film is successful in creating tension by every passing moment.. Finally,you leave the cinEma hall satisfied !
 
DEV D : I liked the movie because though in extremes, it was believable. I could believe a wayward, purposeless guy’s search for love. I believe that no matter how bad our circumstances, we make our choices. All characters had it hard, but none were forced to make the choice. They made their choices of freewill. This is true for our lives too.Dark humor in the movie was a plus. Dev,the hero is not your usual goody-two-shoes hero. His actions are not admirable and you don’t feel any sympathy for him. But he is not an anti-hero either. His plight to dungeons and relationship with Paro and Chanda is well-fleshed out. Both Paro and Chanda have been portrayed with independence and dignity. Unlike Dev, Paro hasn’t been going through any emotional atyachar, she seems to have a good life with her Bhuvan. Last but not the least a watchable for abhay fans like me..
 
OYE LUCKY..: Told you earlier I'm flat at Abhay Deol's simple,spontaneous style.. just found an excuse to review his yet another movie.. Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye is a story of Lucky Singh (Abhay Deol) who plays a loveable thief, someone who even the Delhi police are extremely fond of. His style is to outsmart the people, chowkidars and policemen with his sharp mind and wit. He is an aspiring individual who loves the good things in life and is generally enamored by the lifestyles of the rich and affluent . Its based on the concept that sometimes the only way to stop a criminal is to become one. Abhay is also good at the romantic chats with his beloved.. sonam,the character in the film.

Pappu can dance!

What if my sasu-ma happens to see this? "Bahu nachti achcha hai!!!" and she ,through the dinning room ..taking all charms watching me n ma golu-polu husband do salsa on the kitchen floor ! with kaddu-aaloo serving good props :)ha ha! Well,,dancers always have a one shoulder privilege..it be school-functions ..college fests..b'day parties ..discs or even ladies' programme in the colony.. Who does not like to dance..? and if you are a standard one..you catch eyes! everyone wants to be in the group you choreograph..everyone likes you in the party..n you are certainly not short of a pair at any floor ! So,in all.....lots scope for the classified dancers,,but what about those who...."how to dance?" Well....all you need to be is smart n hot....rest will follow on its own...get inspired from those mast-dance freakers...(specially male!)..who drink n dance .. at every spot.. it be yaar ke yaar ki party ..uska birthday ..ya fir uski shaadi.....they are so-so lively!!! just have a look:

• They dont wait for people to ask them dance !
• They get on the floor mast - freestyle.
• Occupy maximum space..as much as they can...let others know of their competency to dance long in the party!
• They take all strokes..all types of gliding and walking ..
• They will stretch well - good ..hoppy ,zig-zag manner..give jolly ..sometimes a bit tired expressions... but wont lose heart :)
• They wont mind you striking or hurting...although will say sorry :)...only if they acknowledge !
• Some may not dance ..although ... yet everytime ask for a track change and will sing much - much aloud..take care you dont stand by their side!
• Many like thumkas n nautanki stuff approach ..in order to compensate for their dancing!
• Some do cheapo dance..others entertain ..try to be VaiyjantiMala with their girlfriend's stolls.
• A few would do patang - dance however...they'll fly their kite..leaving you wonder ...if there exists a real one in the scene !

......................such features are endless... All in all, they are easy -go ,mast -happy people ..all matters hem is enjoyment...the purpose of dance! Hmm now o end ! what if Shyamak's assistants......for the dance-sessions....... Yes ! all pappus try n impress me for the concert passes @ East End Mall,Lko ,this july! Till then , stay happy n dance ! with luv astha .

" Kya sach mey itne saare log padhte hain is college mey?..roz aate -jate toh nai dikhte.."and me joining the crowd amidst all hooting and commenting!

Recession kya aya..humein dubo le gaya...Our seniors had been placed till now..and we just have no scopes of.... so unemployed..so bekar! greived by events like this... kisi kaam ke toh hain nahin..bech hi do bhai! *people cn ignore this out of no-placement frustation*

HI friends.. went out to treat ma frenzs..ya all 11 of us..( ma pending bday treat..the IT frenzs ' treat) had a f9 time out at 9'2'11 ...the restaurant...the idea being mine to move to sipri,,,d farthest frm d collg.... it was real fun added by the melodious charm of kunal n anusha ...the singers ...out there... ashu being ma on ma right..i hd pretty gud time with hs 3.2 megapixels mobile cam@10,000/-only!......Although I point out a lot of.......................but still the boy hs it well!! a gud one..I say this coz ..i never ....at his face..he he.. last but not the least....marking a finish..I broke the restauran glass....I dn knw..it js happened!! I Compensated it for sorry luks...against kunal ,,mohita ...n others!dt ws what I managed..... so tht ws it..since then , simply roaming on net,..doin ntnhg..decided to tk part in the "future einstein " event of EC fest..but hv nthg at hand..no matter ..no idea,,no clue of what n hows!! ..I wonder why google is so good for nothing...atleast 4 me..it is!! 2 morrow the last date 4 abstract submission....and ... I'm feeling sleepy!! gudnite everyone!! astha

So finally miss Moody is free enough to turn up!! where had I been all these dayz?... had i been busy..preoccupied...or..anything??.nah!! na nothing like dat.!!.. I really have no clue what i've been doing since the 16th I returned frm home.I sincerely realize that the lazy monster has wickedly taken its toll on me ! simply uninterested,carefree,easy-go,thanda,chilled out,,no bother attitude ......these all providing ink to bold out the lines that follow::"Where is the youth heading to ?" .....all dat ive beeen good at is..watching movies!! all stuff!! a herd of them!! jus too many to list even for reviews ! wd ma average reaching 3-4 per day inspite of the classes n othr stuffs by d side.I wonder how easy it is to lie in ur bed or rest down at chair and be an idle looker at the happenings of others..! u go through all fortunes and myseries of others !!.being absolutely not engaged !.. I guess WATCHING is the easiest thing in the world one could ever do...PLAY & STOP sans effort!! :) bas jogging ,yoga,some reading,friends,socialising(treats -outings),a bit classes(1 bunk since 16th:))gross net browsing(very faaltu),sleeping ,chillaxing,idling,day-dreaming being the prominent ones.!! but not so as to hamper my blogging...Yes!! nothing can refrain me from blogging..I certainly cannot stay away from it for long,wont ignore ds part of ma life ,the token of ma identity,expression and belongingness! and I truly wish it to be the best in the world !! ......... oh!!!.Did I say something like dat?? arrrre !main toh zazbaati ho gai..HE HE!!:) nah!! not the least I care...damn! let the rest go o hell......I write for myself coz I want to!! no expectations do i sow or rewards I desire!..I value the charm ,the satisfaction it offers to my writer-instinct! n blogging will stay as long as I m persistent! and these gaps remind me more of my duty!(I hope the lazy bastard in me is hearing this!!) chal...off to mess now!! bye regards, astha

Now while I scribble in for the women's day,,plz dnt treat me any mahila - samiti head or a part of NAARI-AANDOLAN...

The young girls have just discovered their freedom ,older ones not to be outdone are exploring theirs! and it remains to see what men make out of this.....For while a man will not hesitate to make the most of a woman's freedom outside home... will he be able to tolerate his girl's freedom outside his home?

Freedom ,self-respect ,esteem .self-dependence being their motto the girls are in constant mess with who they are..a nd what they want!while striving hard in a glitzy ,rose-tinted world of multiplex machismo.She works at office ..then her children at home..whom some husbands find burden to care out of laziness,busy time or........In worse cases...women suffering their mate's physical and mental ill -treatments.....their clients,female-secretories ,extra maritals....so on and on and the same old story in the end;the womwn assume martyr status in the end..

In the same pond ,is the other section who cvonfirms one's independence by doing all they want to ...not answerable to ..(say men!)...for the phone calls they pick,the people they meet and for the venues they attend!To them ,,men are not necessary coz they need them ,but because they want them.!

.....all this in pursuit of..... happiness?HOW HAPPY IS TODAY'S WOMAN??

would yoU say Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a happy woman ?? And even if she is not..who knows what she wants to be happy ??

Hi frenz....holi -on in the hostel!!! uff !! people drag you like hell!!monstery faces..screaming..snatching..and the colors...thanda paani!! mamma!! but people like me ...manage well to stay smart!! ..and that too after suffering for the last two times.. khair ..I feel I'll talk much about it at the holi session of the blog... Time to pack -up now...from the post??? more so to move to home...yes holi holidays..!! ah!! home ..sweet home!!. Yes people main kal ghar ja ri in the afta noon after the last test ... PACE-UTSAV

18 th was ma bday.. and 19th.. commenced the sports fest ,the PACE-2009...No ! I honestly admit i had a thanda attitude towards it...only the first day..I was totally on the ground..the next day ma aching knee(I had severly injured some time back) did not permit me to... and I ended with the 200m track race the next morning.. Sports is really what captures me so much..I dont play well ..but still i like doing so in the guise of an average player who offers you a promising support when you are in short of a team!...I'm mad for tennis,cricket...I'm seen at throws,jumps,tracks,relays...but this season I realised i've grown quite old for it all..Young were those days as the fresher when swift was ma pace and mighty were ma throws ...sun did tan me ..but had its reflection in ma shiny eyes..and now..with the hurt leg I cant.....speak!!!!(do you need a leg to speak ???may be !if your wits lie in your knees:) he he!!) .. also some credit to very strong fresher+junior girls who are good in sports.. and then 22-23, the cultural fest ...the utsav, the season of nataks ,nukkads,plays,themes,dances,literary,fine-arts,fashion,ramp-walks,modelling,dance,choreography,elocution.......tc etc...HOLD-ON!! I did not participate in any!!Stricken by an off-mood,a bad -knee and may be I was too busy watching,roaming or helping all around ..that I didnt even bother to participate in any.!!! not even literary! A solo-dance(english rap music).and a tambola(I play it everytime and I win never:))!! was all I did at utsav... but to ma utter honesty !! I was busy all through !What did I do then??? I think I'll settle for an answer in between yes n No....I DONT KNOW!!:)...just to console myself that I'll do much next year...add flying colors to ma achievements before I leave this college so that kids look back to find..... An icon,a model ,an actor,a dancer ,an artist ,a writer, a poet , an anchor and ..... lots more of all ma faces... you'll get to know with the further posts.. till then you keep discovering yourselves!! all the best ! astha.

I'm back afta so -so long!Last I remember was ma b'day blog when someone called for me n since then I left it pending...and before I stuff in between something more...you better go through this much -hanging b'day post!! It started at 18th ..and ends today...no ! no!! its not at all long! Happy birthday to me!! ..Yes!! frenz.!! me turning a perfect bachelorette 21 ! Oh!! did I mention that??my age!!

Welll...Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. *bas dukh toh is baat ka hai..k umar guzarti ja rai hai...aur haath kuch nai aa ra..jee haan!! Im still unemployed ..bekaar..one among those youths of India....who strive hard for their dreams...and what they never and not get is a chance!! a sheer chance!*

17th.. had been a tired day..all day with so much stuffs...i just cant recall much to mention..and Adding to the trouble was the bundle of tuts ..We frustatingly managed it all!! (no I could not,for I did not want to ....I did not submit the tut:(..)

18th... Birthday??what special about it ..everyone has one!! naah! I'm not going to sound that way..atleast not at ma bday!

yes !! I 'm here back at blog after a nice fun-outing with frenz..Around 6-7 of us headed from the dance sessions at the CS block..to the royal...ya ma b'day celebrations....people had organised a f9 surprise party..yes!! I had no idea of it ..coz nothing as such occured to me in the last two years!! I guess the first b'day when I cut two cakes..at two times..blackforest(midnight,room) n vanilla(evening, royal)...

I was pretty delighted to enter the royal..pleasantly decorated with strips reading ma name aloud!! and balloons dancing along!...then forward to the cakes and candles n the party !The waitors as welll as the customers at the restaurant had a f9 time watching all of us..playing with the cream(No plzzz! )...Some even stepped up to wish the bday ggirl!...and after that my frenz.........*some text missing*(coz I was busy at the wash basin slipping cream aside of ma hair ,eyes n face of course!)

n after a lot of masti ,we decided we should depart from the memorable evening..We did so ...and when I moved out, I glanced at the Dev d...(in front of royal)...yes !! you understood it right!!! I'll see you next at the movie -review !! :) bye-bye says the b'day girl!!

Slap day!!

phattak!!! Is this the way to welcome your guests?? oh!! I can hear those grumblings...well this is how I wish you a slap day!! slaps ...being a girl ofcourse !! you get ample scopes of slapping,but how much have I got?? umm I dont remember the last one...I would have been in 3rd-4 th when I didnt complete ma craft-assignment. and on the slap day ,I'm busy with games and matches...Some frenz who scolded me tight for not following them to ground for the gals' cricket match...While they are toiling hard at the playground...one of othe players is here at the ease of ma room,with the sunday times,excusing off the IIIrd yr match...My dear frenz....I was just too tired of the dance practice...but I assure you of the presence at the race tracks. Am i late???just wasnt once cool enuf to sit for ma blog.. I woke up today at never-mind 9...feeling ok.Went thru TIMES... and since then ,a series of stuffs like sports,,songs,,themes,skit-script ....have been occupying me.. the group dance which quite ached me .I wonder if I'm patient enuf to step up 8 times to all 8 members of the dance.Adding to the trouble is ma bloody Laptop..I formatted it today.While i was over a song...it started behaving so abnormally!!! sounding like a terrible wing-stopped fan..screen hanged like that of a convict to death....I had no choice but to....and problems with the drivers as well...wifii is the only compatable driver in the plenty material in the CDbox.All this PROBLEM appearing so futile to me!! I feel like sleeping now...for I'm tired....but also for one more reason..??????

chocolate? shut your mouth and gobble one ! No ..its not always like that.. Chocolate day!you can gift your sweet heart a box full of chocolates..(ofcourse!! you can do that anyday).. Chocolates...sweet,milky,brownie,hard,bitter,cocoa-buttered,candy,shell-coated or simlar ones the Truffles, Creams, Pralines...........who does not like them??and me ..no exception!..I usually go to gomtinagar's imported choc-centres..to relish holland-candies,Belgium's light sugar..milky chocs and hard swiss chocolates!Except that I also like stuffs as couverture, a simple chocolate with a relatively high cocoa butter and other candy chocolates,which are shelly-coated,glazing type. Among all,I appreciate hard-bitter ones...dark ,,total -cocoa types..Ya !! I'll choose the same to gift (anyone!) So thats it all..I have only this much choc-bar to offer you right now..of course google will offer you more!! Much in ma store for those who regularly taste ma blog.. I'll continue adding flavour 4 them.. Bye! ma next post wud be for teddy day..I wonder if he likes chocolates too!! I take your leave to go n get some for both of us!! :) astha
